About The Position

The SAP Cost Controller manages and optimizes cost structures in the transportation and warehousing sector. The role oversees cost accounting processes, ensures accurate cost allocation, and provides financial analysis to support strategic decision-making. Working closely with operations, finance, and supply chain teams, the controller monitors budget adherence and identifies cost-saving opportunities. The position uses SAP systems to improve cost tracking and reporting, supporting transparency, efficiency, financial discipline, operational excellence, and profitability.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Cost Controller or in a similar financial control role within the transportation or warehousing industry.
• Strong proficiency in the SAP Cost Controlling (CO) module, including hands-on experience with cost allocation, cost center accounting, and internal orders.
• Solid understanding of cost accounting principles, budgeting, and financial analysis.
• Excellent analytical skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.

Nice To Haves

• Professional certification such as CMA (Certified Management Accountant) or CPA (Certified Public Accountant).
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA and integration with SAP FI (Financial Accounting) and MM (Materials Management) modules.
• Familiarity with transportation and warehousing operational processes and cost drivers.
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, macros, and data visualization tools.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain cost accounting records in SAP, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
• Analyze cost variances and prepare detailed reports to support budgeting and forecasting.
• Collaborate with operations, finance, and procurement teams to monitor and control costs.
• Identify cost-reduction opportunities and recommend process improvements to enhance financial performance.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities related to cost accounting and financial reporting.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and external regulatory requirements related to cost management.
• Provide training and support to team members on SAP cost-controlling modules and best practices.
