SAP Business Process Analyst

About The Position

Noveon is seeking a high-aptitude SAP Business Process Analyst to join our IT team. This role is a critical business partner responsible for the stability, compliance, and continuous improvement of our SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud environment across the full manufacturing value chain. Rather than specializing in a single module, this analyst will support the end-to-end processes that run our operation, including procure-to-pay, plan-to-produce, order-to-cash, inventory and warehouse management, quality, plant maintenance, and record-to-report, and will understand how they connect. As Noveon prepares for future growth, this position will be instrumental in ensuring our supply chain, manufacturing, and financial processes are efficient, well controlled, and SOX-compliant. The ideal candidate is a versatile SAP generalist who is comfortable on the shop floor and in front of executive leadership, and who knows how to get the most out of SAP’s standard cloud capabilities.

Requirements

  • 2–3 years of functional experience (S/4HANA required; Public Cloud preferred).
  • Broad, hands-on functional understanding of the SAP S/4HANA areas that support a manufacturing business: procurement, inventory and warehouse management, production planning and execution, quality, plant maintenance, sales, and finance and controlling.
  • Strong working knowledge of how these areas connect (e.g., account determination, cost centers, sales order requirements, MRP-driven procurement) and the ability to trace an issue across them.
  • Familiarity with fit-to-standard, SAP Best Practices, and the release cycle of SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud.
  • Basic familiarity with SOX compliance and some IT General Controls (ITGC) within an ERP environment.
  • Can demonstrate exceptional ability to create auditable technical documentation and user training materials.
  • Possesses a high standard of ethics and attention to detail, essential for maintaining inventory and financial compliance.
  • Is a “tinkerer” who enjoys finding the root cause of an issue rather than just applying a band-aid.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication skills with the ability to build trust with both shop-floor operators and executive leadership.
  • Able to move up to 20lbs.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Can wear PPE.
  • Is capable of making repetitive movements, including, but not limited to, sitting, squatting, and walking up and down stairs.

Responsibilities

  • Resolving day-to-day functional issues for teams across Procurement, Production, Warehouse, Quality, Maintenance, Sales, and Finance, acting as a primary point of contact for troubleshooting and process refinement.
  • Understanding how SAP processes flow across functional areas (requisition to payment, planning to production confirmation, sales order to billing) and identifying where breakdowns occur at integration points.
  • Overseeing the accuracy of master and transactional data (e.g., BOMs, routings, material masters, business partners, cost centers) and ensuring planning and MRP runs are optimized for production stability.
  • Identifying underutilized features in SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud to replace manual shopfloor, warehouses, or spreadsheet workarounds, improving overall data accuracy.
  • Configuring and maintaining business processes using SAP-supported public cloud tools, keeping the system standard and upgrade-safe.
  • Assisting in the design and execution of internal controls over inventory, procurement, production, and financial processes.
  • Partnering with the Enterprise Business Systems Manager to review user roles. Ensure sensitive processes (e.g., Purchase Order approval vs. Goods Receipt) are properly segregated to mitigate risk.
  • Serving as a key resource for auditors, providing evidence for inventory valuations, cycle counting logs, procurement documentation, and other in-scope process controls.
  • Ensuring all system changes follow a formal, auditable process, including documented approvals and successful User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Building and maintaining a library of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for warehouse, production-floor, and office-based SAP processes.
  • Leading onboarding and “refresher” training for both office-based users and shop-floor operators to ensure system proficiency.
  • Coordinating UAT for semi-annual SAP Cloud updates across all impacted business areas, ensuring that new functionality does not disrupt existing processes or controls.
