About The Position

The Senior SAP Business Process Owner provides business ownership for one or more end-to-end SAP S/4HANA process domains, aligning business operations, system capabilities, and master data governance. The role works across business and technology teams to establish consistent processes, support adoption of new ways of working, improve data quality, and enable measurable process performance. Through process stewardship and collaboration with key stakeholders, the position helps ensure SAP solutions support operational needs and continuous improvement.

The role owns and improves assigned processes, maintains process documentation, defines master data governance, translates business needs into functional specifications, and validates technical solutions. It also leads user acceptance testing, partners with function champions and site subject matter resources, reports process KPIs, designs and delivers role-based training, supports change adoption, and ensures compliance with applicable regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Requirements

• Must already have work authorization that permits employment with Hitachi Energy in the United States.
• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Marketing, Business, Information Systems, or a related field; alternatively, 12+ years of hands-on SAP experience and demonstrated passion for the platform in lieu of a degree.
• 10+ years in business process, operations, marketing and sales, or SAP functional roles, including 5+ years with accountable ownership of an end-to-end process.
• Experience applying AI tools to business or technical work.
• Experience leading user acceptance testing and cutover or hyper-care activities on a major SAP program.
• Deep hands-on SAP S/4HANA knowledge, or ECC with migration experience, in at least one core module, with the ability to work across related modules.
• Demonstrated master data expertise, advanced Excel capability, and ability to specify and validate data extracts.

Responsibilities

• Own the design, documentation, and continuous improvement of assigned end-to-end SAP S/4HANA processes.
• Maintain process maps, work instructions, SOPs, and visual job aids.
• Define and enforce master data quality rules and governance practices.
• Translate business needs into functional specifications and validate technical solutions.
• Lead user acceptance testing, including scenario design, authorization validation, and defect triage.
• Partner with function champions and site subject matter resources to identify issues and verify solutions.
• Define, monitor, and report key performance indicators for the process domain.
• Design and deliver role-based training while supporting adoption of process and system changes.
• Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
