SAP ABAP Consultant
About The Position
The SAP ABAP Consultant develops, enhances, and supports SAP solutions, with a focus on SAP S/4HANA and Enterprise Asset Management (EAM). The role works closely with business and functional teams across SAP Plant Maintenance (PM), Quality Management (QM), and Project Systems (PS), translating business requirements into scalable technical solutions. Responsibilities span technical design, development, testing, debugging, code reviews, and production support, as well as requirement analysis, estimation, development standards, and peer reviews. The position operates in an offshore-onsite delivery model and requires strong communication and customer-facing skills. The role requires extensive ABAP development expertise, including ABAP Objects, CDS views, AMDP, SAP Fiori Elements, OData services, and SAP HANA optimization. It also covers enhancements, reports, integrations, data migration and conversion, forms, workflow, performance tuning, transport management, and development best practices. Strong EAM domain knowledge is mandatory, including hands-on work in PM, QM, and PS and familiarity with maintenance, inspection, asset lifecycle, and project processes. Experience with SAP S/4HANA EAM, SAP Asset Manager, RAP, Agile, and DevOps is preferred or desirable as specified in the posting.
Requirements
- SAP ABAP development experience in implementation, enhancement, and support projects.
- Strong hands-on SAP S/4HANA ABAP development experience focused on SAP EAM.
- Strong expertise in ABAP Objects and modern ABAP development techniques.
- Hands-on experience with CDS views, including analytical and consumption views, and AMDP.
- Hands-on experience with SAP Fiori Elements and OData services.
- Strong knowledge of ABAP Workbench, including enhancements, User Exits, BADIs, and the Enhancement Framework.
- Experience developing classical, ALV, and OO ALV reports.
- Experience with interfaces using BAPI, RFC, ALE/IDoc, Web Services, and ABAP Proxy.
- Experience with data migration and data conversion programs.
- Experience with Adobe Forms, Smart Forms, and Output Management.
- Working knowledge of Workflow, BRF+, and Flexible Workflow.
- Experience with performance optimization, SQL tuning, and HANA database concepts.
- Knowledge of transport management, code quality tools, and SAP development best practices.
- Strong functional understanding of SAP EAM and hands-on experience supporting and developing solutions in SAP PM, QM, and PS.
- Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
- Experience working closely with business and functional teams.

Responsibilities
- Perform technical design, development, testing, debugging, code reviews, and production support.
- Analyze requirements, design technical solutions, provide estimates, and follow development standards and peer-review practices.
- Work with business and functional teams across SAP PM, QM, and PS to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Develop and support SAP S/4HANA ABAP solutions, including CDS views, AMDP, SAP Fiori Elements, OData services, and HANA-optimized development.
- Develop and maintain enhancements, reports, interfaces, data migration and conversion programs, forms, and workflow-related solutions.
- Support EAM business processes involving maintenance notifications and orders, preventive maintenance, work clearance, equipment and functional locations, asset lifecycle management, inspections, quality notifications, and project planning, budgeting, and execution.
- Optimize performance and SQL, manage transports, and apply code quality tools and SAP development best practices.
- Prepare technical specifications, conduct impact analysis, and support UAT and production deployments.
- Collaborate in offshore-onsite delivery models and communicate with customers and stakeholders.
