About The Position

Klondike Cheese Company is looking for multiple individuals to join our Sanitation team. This role involves cleaning and sanitizing equipment, machinery, and work areas in the facility, which has a cooler temperature of around 50 degrees. The sanitation worker is required to work in an environment that is wet, humid, and warm. This position requires adherence to strict food safety standards, including HACCP, GMP, and SSOP guidelines. Employees will frequently lift/move hoses and related equipment, and will be exposed to and use chemical cleaning solutions with protective gear. There may be opportunities to assist in the operation of production lines and packaging duties.

Requirements

  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.
  • Good attendance record.
  • Must be a team player.
  • Employees are required to stand the duration of the shift, with frequent and repetitive bending, stooping, turning, reaching, grasping and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.

Nice To Haves

  • Cheese/food industry experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Cleaning and sanitizing equipment, machinery, and work areas in the facility.
  • Utilizing detergents, sanitizers, brushes, and high-pressure hoses to clean production equipment and rooms.
  • Measuring, weighing, or mixing cleaning solutions.
  • Observing machine operations, gauges, or thermometers, and adjusting controls to maintain specified conditions.
  • Setting controls to regulate temperature and length of cycles, and starting conveyors, pumps, agitators, and machines.
  • Draining, cleaning, and refilling machines or tanks at designated intervals.
  • Performing varying tasks while standing, lifting, and crouching during long periods of time.
  • Communicating and working effectively with other Sanitation personnel and Supervisor.
  • Adhering to Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) and HACCP pre-requisite programs, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Sanitation Standard Operating Procedure (SSOP) guidelines or Federal regulations.
  • Frequently lifting/moving hoses and related equipment throughout every work shift.
  • Assisting in the operation of production lines as needed, including operating or tending machines.
  • Other related additional duties as assigned by Supervisor/Manager, which may include assisting with packaging duties.
