About The Position

New Job Openings! Klondike Cheese Company is looking for multiple individuals to join our Sanitation team. This role involves cleaning and sanitizing equipment, machinery, and work areas in the facility, which has a cooler temperature of around 50 degrees. The sanitation worker is required to work in an environment that is wet, humid, and warm. Responsibilities include adhering to strict food safety standards, using various cleaning agents and tools, and performing tasks that involve standing, lifting, and crouching for long periods. The position also requires effective communication with team members and supervisors, adherence to HACCP, GMP, and SSOP guidelines, and the ability to assist with production lines or packaging duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Must be willing to work overtime as needed.
  • A good attendance record is required.
  • Candidate must be a team player.
  • Employees are required to stand the duration of the shift, with frequent and repetitive bending, stooping, turning, reaching, grasping and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.

Nice To Haves

  • Cheese/food industry experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Cleaning and sanitizing equipment, machinery, and work areas in the facility.
  • Using brushes, hoses, and chemical cleaning agents to ensure the highest of food safety standards are met.
  • Utilizing detergents, sanitizers, brushes, and high-pressure hose to clean production equipment and rooms in assigned area.
  • Measuring, weighing, or mixing cleaning solutions, using measuring tanks, calibrated rods, or suction tubes.
  • Observing machine operations, gauges, or thermometers, and adjusting controls to maintain specified conditions.
  • Setting controls to regulate temperature and length of cycles, and starting conveyors, pumps, agitators, and machines.
  • Draining, cleaning, and refilling machines or tanks at designated intervals, using cleaning solutions or water.
  • Performing varying tasks while standing, lifting, and crouching during long periods of time.
  • Communicating and working effectively with other Sanitation personnel and Supervisor.
  • Adhering to Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) and HACCP pre-requisite programs, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Sanitation Standard Operating Procedure (SSOP) guidelines, or Federal regulations.
  • Frequently lifting/moving hoses and related equipment throughout every work shift.
  • Exposure to and use of chemical cleaning solutions (with protective gear).
  • Assisting in the operation of production lines as needed, including operating or tending machines.
  • Other related additional duties as assigned by Supervisor/Manager, which may include assisting with packaging duties.
