About The Position

The Sanitation Worker role involves performing cleaning tasks in various locations, primarily in a standing and mobile environment. This position requires constant exposure to water/moisture and cleaning compounds. Responsibilities include manually cleaning all areas and equipment using methods such as hosing down, pre-soaking, and rinsing. A visual inspection of all cleaned areas and equipment is mandatory, with procedures repeated as necessary to meet company and U.S.D.A. requirements. The role also involves preparing equipment and supplies, checking rotation schedules, and removing equipment guards and covers for cleaning.

Requirements

• Able to do basic math, counting, telling of time and temperatures.
• Ability to understand and communicate in English.
• Able to follow instructions, both verbal and demonstrated.
• Must be able to stand at workstation and other positions as assigned.
• Good hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to make quick quality judgment decisions within the levels of assigned duties.

Nice To Haves

• Previous production type experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manually prepare all necessary equipment and supplies/cleaning compound.
• Check rotation schedule to ensure proper work locations.
• Manually remove all equipment guards, covers, and overhead pans in preparation for cleaning; place these pieces in a location accessible for cleaning but out of the way of foot traffic and other workers.
• Perform initial rinse of area and equipment removing all large pieces of waste materials.
• Apply manually pre-soak to equipment and surrounding areas; allow soaking for the recommended time period.
• Second rinse all pre-soaked areas.
• Visually inspect work in progress and, if necessary, continue to soak and rinse to loosen waste materials.
• Hand scrub all areas that have not come clean; re-rinse.
• Continue to clean and re-inspect all areas for you responsible until Quality Assurance Inspectors have released the area for production.
