About The Position
The Sanitation Wash Technician is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing processing and packaging equipment, as well as food- and nonfood-contact surfaces throughout the plant. The position supports manufacturing production and responds to food safety and housekeeping needs. Work includes cleaning with hot water, foaming and cleaning agents, and strong corrosive chemicals.
Requirements
- Able to wear protective gear such as a hazmat suit.
- Able to climb, bend, reach, stoop, kneel, and stretch for extended periods, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Able to work at heights using ladders or lifts to access plant areas.
- Able to work in cold temperatures and humid conditions.
Responsibilities
- Clean equipment needed for manufacturing production, including production lines and processing equipment.
- Clean packaging equipment, including wiping down metal conveyors and electrical components and cleaning the machines.
- Open valves and remove guards as needed for cleaning.
- Maintain and clean nonfood-contact surfaces throughout the building.
- Respond to food safety and housekeeping needs as a first responder.
- Work with strong corrosive chemicals, hot water, and foaming and cleaning agents.
