About The Position

The Sanitation Technician is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing food processing equipment and facilities to prevent cross-contamination and ensure product safety. This role involves following company Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs), completing documentation, and maintaining sanitation-related equipment. The position also requires adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and safety policies, including the safe handling of chemicals and the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
  • Sanitation experience preferred.
  • Experience leading a team
  • Must be able to follow instructions in English.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English.
  • Self-Directed
  • Time Management control
  • Must have strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Follows all GMPs, Food Safety, SSOPs per assignments.
  • Must be able to use Step ladder/Ladder
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work with extended periods of standing, walking, bending, twisting, and lifting in safe manner.
  • Ability to interact professionally with honesty and respect towards Management, coworkers.
  • Required to work 3rd shift, though hours may change due to demand, including weekends, or holidays.
  • Able to lift-up to 50lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Cleans and sanitizes food processing equipment and food processing facilities.
  • Prevents cross contamination of product, work-in-progress, food contact surfaces and food contact packaging during sanitation procedures.
  • Follows all company Sanitation SOPs (SSOP) for cleaning equipment and facility.
  • Performs pre-inspection of clean equipment before requesting supervisor approval.
  • Completes all required sanitation and SQF documentation.
  • Washes and maintains cleaning carts and tools.
  • Maintains all sanitation related equipment including but not limited to automatic floor scrubbers, vacuums, formers, cleaning equipment and tools.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the sanitation supervisor.
  • Follows established programs, policies, and practices to produce safe, quality foods that meet SQF, regulatory, company, and customer requirements.
  • Adheres to all company GMPs and Safety policies.
  • Follows company safety policies and practices fostering a safe workplace and environment for ourselves and our co-workers.
  • Works safely with the chemicals used in the cleaning process and ensures all chemicals are used at proper concentrations following chemical handling SSOP.
  • Wears appropriate person protective equipment (PPE) while performing cleaning tasks.
