About The Position

The Sanitation Technician is responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and food safety within the production facility. This role involves the meticulous cleaning and sanitizing of all processing equipment, infrastructure—including floors, railings, and totes—and assigned work areas. Additionally, the technician must ensure regulatory compliance by accurately documenting daily sanitation checklists and proactively reporting operational findings or maintenance needs to the supervisor.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • 3–6 months of related industrial cleaning or manufacturing experience preferred; previous experience in a food manufacturing (GMP) environment is highly desirable.
  • Must be comfortable handling industrial cleaning chemicals and operating sanitation machinery in accordance with safety protocols.
  • Basic mechanical understanding to safely disassemble and reassemble equipment parts for deep cleaning.
  • Basic math skills required for measuring chemical concentrations and documenting production data.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interpret instructions and complete daily compliance logs.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 40 lbs regularly throughout the shift.
  • Demonstrates a high level of initiative, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to taking ownership of results to ensure facility standards are met.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a food manufacturing (GMP) environment is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and sanitize all machinery and production areas to ensure a food-safe environment.
  • Manage and complete all tasks assigned within the Master Sanitation Schedule (Daily through Annual).
  • Accurately document all sanitation activities in daily logs to ensure 100% traceability.
  • Safely handle and monitor cleaning chemicals, ensuring proper dilution and usage rates.
  • Maintain a "safety-first" mindset by following all company safety policies and hazard communication guidelines.
  • Maintain the physical stamina required to stand for full shifts and safely lift up to 40 lbs to ensure all equipment or facility areas are reached and cleaned thoroughly.
