About The Position

The Sanitation Technician cleans and maintains assigned areas, controls parts including gaskets, and replaces broken or missing parts. The role assists with setup in the assigned department or on other lines and prepares mixtures of cleaning solutions and other chemicals. The technician tears down machinery at the beginning of the cleanup shift, cleans and sanitizes assigned machinery and areas, and helps set up before morning production begins. The position follows safety procedures, uses required personal protective equipment, and performs other assigned duties in different departments as needed.

Requirements

• Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended shift hours.
• Ability to work cooperatively with supervisors and coworkers.
• Sound work ethic, honesty, and moral character.
• Basic understanding of machinery teardown and setup.
• Clean-up parts experience.
• Basic math functions and skills.
• Basic chemical understanding.
• Ability to work in a wet and cold environment at 45°F (4°C).
• Ability to stand for an 8-hour shift.
• Ability to handle a 900 PSI water hose continually.
• Ability to lift 10–50 lbs, including moving, lifting, and pushing machinery.
• Ability to climb ladders daily, stoop, and reach overhead, including bending and twisting.
• Ability to work while exposed to noise above 85 decibels, CO2, and moving production.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Poultry experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Use chemicals to clean and sanitize assigned machinery and areas.
• Tear down machinery at the beginning of the cleanup shift.

• Help set up in the assigned department or on other lines.
• Prepare mixtures of cleaning solutions and other chemicals.
• Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor, area leader, Sanitation Manager, or other management members.
• Follow directions and work in other departments as needed.
• Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs, wear required PPE, and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures and safety requirements.
