About The Position

The Sanitation Technician helps maintain a clean, safe, and food-safe manufacturing environment at AFB International, which develops and produces liquid and dry palatability enhancers for pet food. The role supports food safety, product quality, and production operations by cleaning and sanitizing equipment and facility areas, following established procedures, and coordinating with Production and other departments. Experienced professionals and career starters are encouraged to apply; training and development are available for candidates who are new to the industry.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Take pride in cleanliness and attention to detail.
• Understand the importance of food safety and following procedures.
• Work safely and responsibly around cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Follow written procedures and accurately complete documentation.
• Communicate well and work effectively with others.
• Be willing to learn and follow established sanitation methods and safety requirements.

Nice To Haves

• At least one year of sanitation experience is desired but not required.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize production equipment and facility areas according to established procedures and schedules.
• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and sanitation standards to help prevent contamination and ensure product safety.
• Document cleaning activities, chemical concentrations, test results, and any follow-up cleaning needed.
• Follow safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), chemicals, tools, and equipment.
• Keep tools, supplies, and storage areas clean, organized, and in good working condition.
• Coordinate with Production and other departments to use scheduled downtime effectively and ensure equipment is sanitized before returning to operation.
• Identify and report potential food safety concerns and take appropriate action to help prevent issues.
