About The Position
Palmer Candy is seeking a 2nd shift Sanitation Team Member at our Bluff St facility. This role is responsible for the sanitation of facilities, machines, and production equipment to ensure products are produced with good quality in a safe, secure, and sanitary manner, adhering to company specifications.
Requirements
- Ability to operate sanitation equipment and tools.
- Ability to prepare sanitation supplies/chemicals safely and correctly.
- Ability to clean and sanitize manufacturing areas, packaging machines, and equipment (regular wash and allergen wash).
- Ability to check equipment to ensure it meets health and safety regulations.
- Ability to manage recycling and waste removal.
- Ability to perform light painting/construction projects.
- Ability to perform simple maintenance.
- Ability to learn how to use pallet jacks or forklifts.
- Ability to maintain acceptable standards of conduct.
- Ability to interact with all functions within the plant and the ability to work directly with individuals at all levels and functions.
- Regular and timely attendance is required.
- Ability to work overtime as needed and as required.
- Lift up to 40 – 50 pounds occasionally and 25 -30 pounds frequently.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to climb ladders and work above shoulder level.
- Ability to perform repetitive motion.
- Ability to continually use hands to handle, control or feel objects.
- Ability to continually lift, push or pull.
Nice To Haves
- Prior sanitation experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Great attention to detail.
