Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in sanitation within a food manufacturing or food processing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitation standards (e.g., FDA, USDA, GMP).
  • Experience conducting safety audits and implementing safety procedures in a food production setting.
  • Ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
  • The required skills in sanitation and food manufacturing are essential for daily oversight of cleaning processes and ensuring compliance with food safety standards.
  • Knowledge of food processing and production environments allows the supervisor to tailor sanitation procedures to specific operational needs, minimizing contamination risks.
  • Safety audits and procedures skills are applied regularly to identify hazards and enforce corrective actions, maintaining a safe workplace for all employees.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Environmental Health, or related field.
  • Certification in food safety or sanitation management (e.g., ServSafe, HACCP).
  • Experience with sanitation equipment and chemical handling in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  • Previous supervisory experience in a large-scale food production facility.
  • Preferred skills such as certification in food safety and experience with sanitation equipment enhance the supervisor’s ability to train staff effectively and optimize sanitation workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead sanitation teams to execute daily cleaning and sanitation tasks in food manufacturing areas.
