About the position
The Sanitation Specialist (Team Lead) will work in FreshRealm's Fulfillment Center in Richmond, CA. They will be responsible for overseeing a team of 25+ full-time Sanitation Associates and ensuring the sanitation process is carried out effectively. This role involves organizing and distributing tasks, enforcing safety and quality regulations, maintaining equipment, and monitoring supplies. The ideal candidate should have 3 to 5 years of experience in the sanitation department of a food manufacturing facility, previous Sanitation Lead experience, and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on supervision over the entire sanitation process, under the direction of the Sanitation Manager
- Organize and distribute tasks of sanitation process to maintain the MSS
- Make recommendations as to what is needed, such as parts, chemicals, training, etc.
- Help develop, train, update, improve current SSOP
- Follow and teach Company Safety regulations such as LOTO, HAZCOM, PPE
- Follow and monitor Company GMP standards for Food Manufacturing Facilities
- Monitor the performance of all FS/ Sanitation employees, including efficiencies of work performed and labor hours
- Assist in the creation of weekly work schedules
- Write, teach, follow, access SSOP for the Department and work with other departments to help in continuous improvement
- Ensure compliance to the Master Sanitation Schedule
- Enforce company rules applying them in a fair and equitable manner
- Perform other related cleaning tasks as directed
- Maintain all equipment in good working order
- Maintain work area clean and in safe condition at all times
- Recognize and report any situation that could affect the safety of an employee
- Oversee the removal, replacement, and dismantling of plant equipment and machinery
- Organize and distribute tasks for various areas such as docks, plant roof, sanitation rooms, ingredients room, parking lots, and trash hoppers
- Monitor supplies and parts as needed, including daily and weekly inventories and ensure minimum and max levels of chemicals and supplies
- Monitor and direct the 3 Tub Sink and FS Sanitation employees
- Attend safety and quality training sessions
- Report accidents within 24 hours to management
- Drive a forklift, scissor lift when needed
- Ensure sanitation technicians are following procedures in compliance with sanitation and pest control programs
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 to 5-year experience in the sanitation department of a food manufacturing facility
- Previous Sanitation Lead experience preferred
- Previous experience with Forklift, Electric Jack, Scissor lift, COP, CIP & MSS
- Clear and concise communicator, verbal and written
- Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline oriented environment
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must be eligible to work in the US
- Must satisfactorily complete a background check and drug screen upon offer
- Must be able to work weekends, overtime and holidays as required
- Must be able to bend and lift up to 49 pounds repetitively with or without reasonable accommodation
- Must be able to stand and/or sit for extended periods of time with or without reasonable accommodation
- Exposure to temperatures that range from freezing to hot
