About The Position

The Sanitation Safety Supervisor oversees, evaluates, and directs Safety & Health personnel on the assigned shift, ensuring operations follow sound operating principles and company policies and procedures. The role promotes safety and efficiency and ensures staff receive proper training. It applies employee-relations and union-contract policies in dealings with employees, monitors machinery, equipment, and facilities for safety, and works with production supervisors and management to promote safety, efficiency, and teamwork across departments and the plant. The supervisor attends scheduled or called meetings and performs other duties as needed or assigned. This is a full-time, exempt position on the third shift, with hours that vary and flexibility as needed. The position is based in Marshalltown in the Pork division and reports to the Safety Manager.

Requirements

• Extensive knowledge and technical skill.
• Supervisory skills.
• Good interpersonal relations and ability to handle conflict.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Previous experience with Safety and Health issues.

Responsibilities
