About The Position

The Sanitation Safety Supervisor oversees, evaluates, and directs Safety & Health personnel on the assigned shift, ensuring work follows sound operating principles and company policies and procedures. The supervisor promotes safety and efficiency and ensures staff receive proper training. The role applies employee-relations and union-contract policies when working with employees, monitors machinery, equipment, and facilities for safety, and works with production supervisors and management to promote safety, efficiency, and teamwork throughout the departments and plant. The supervisor attends scheduled or requested meetings and performs other duties as needed or assigned. The position is based in Marshalltown, Iowa, in the Pork division, and is salaried, exempt, and full-time. Third-shift hours vary, with flexibility as needed. The position is not eligible for external-candidate sponsorship.

Requirements

• Previous experience with Safety and Health issues.
• Extensive knowledge and technical skill.
• Supervisory skills.
• Good interpersonal relations and ability to handle conflict.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to speak multiple languages is beneficial.

Responsibilities
