About The Position

The Sanitation role is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards across the production line and surrounding plant areas. We are hiring for both 6-month contract and full-time opportunities, working a 4-days-on, 4-days-off schedule, rotating through 2 day shifts and 2 night shifts. This role ensures that all sanitation practices meet company guidelines, food safety standards, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), while contributing to a safe and efficient operating environment.

  • Flexibility to perform a variety of tasks and support different operational areas
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Physical capability to perform manual cleaning tasks and operate sanitation equipment
  • Successful completion of on-the-job training as determined by the Sanitation Supervisor

Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness of production lines and assigned plant areas
  • Utilize water hoses and approved chemicals to clean equipment and facilities (following proper training)
  • Follow all GMPs and food safety procedures
  • Identify and report safety concerns to supervision
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to sanitation and plant operations
  • Clean packaging areas, dry storage, and common plant spaces including doors, walls, and floors
  • Perform waste management tasks including garbage collection and washing waste totes
  • Operate sanitation equipment such as floor scrubbers; perform manual cleaning when necessary
  • Clean pipes, railings, stairs, and exterior areas including around the smoke shack
  • Complete scheduled daily, weekly, and monthly sanitation tasks
  • Assist with operational duties such as covering the peeler operator and other roles when needed
  • Handle chemical drum changes, cleaning, label removal, and proper disposal
  • Participate in mandatory cleanup days and perform assigned MDI tasks
  • Complete additional duties as assigned by supervisors
