About The Position

The Sanitation Operator is responsible for executing and maintaining the facility’s sanitation program to ensure a clean, safe, hygienic production environment. This role directly supports food safety and quality by thoroughly cleaning equipment and production areas, adhering to established cleaning procedures and regulatory requirements. The position is managed and directly reports to the Sanitation Manager of the Company.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Experience using industrial cleaning equipment (e.g., buffers, scrubbers, wet/dry vacuums).
  • Ability to work independently without supervision and follow established procedures.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Must be able to adapt to changing priorities and work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Must pass a company pre-employment background, physical, and drug screen prior to commencing work.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and sanitize production areas, machinery, and equipment in compliance with plant sanitation standards and SSOPs.
  • Accurately complete all required sanitation documentation and logs.
  • Use cleaning tools, floor scrubbers, foamers, and relation sanitation equipment effectively and safely.
  • Handle cleaning chemicals properly, ensuring correct concentrations and safe usage.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of sanitation supply storage areas.
  • Collaborate with CIP operators to clean and organize production equipment and parts.
  • Perform daily floor-to-ceiling cleaning tasks, including walls, drains, barriers, conveyors, and overhead structures.
  • Execute shift closures to ensure processing areas are clean and free of residue.
  • Follow and uphold Company GMPS, safety standards, and sanitation protocols at all times.
  • Participate in ongoing training and demonstrate understanding of MSDS and safety procedures.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by the Sanitation Manager.
  • Maintain good safety and food quality through completing job tasks and maintaining the work area in a sanitary manner.
  • Required to wear food safety and sanitation clothing.
  • This position necessitates conformance to personal hygiene regulations.
  • Report food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.
  • Ensure all programs are being upheld and documentation is current.
