Benefits Effective Day 1! This position starts at $ 22.80 /hour (with $1/hour shift premium for 3rd shift positions). The Sanitarian is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the plant in accordance with the Master Cleaning Schedule. Sanitarian Worker will be required to disassemble/reassemble equipment and machinery prior to cleaning, use hazardous chemicals on daily basis, use high pressure sprayer to clean equipment, perform dry pick-up of all inedible material on machines and floors, and complete any additional tasks deemed necessary to complete sanitation process.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in reading and writing; ability to complete on-the-job paperwork and effectively communicate across all management levels
  • Must have 3 months experience listed on application (can be multiple employers but must add up to 3 months)
  • Candidates who have previously worked for Tyson will have a minimum rehire waiting period of 365 days and are limited to 3 times of employment.
  • The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be willing and able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • The Team Member will stand, walk, bend, squat, stretch, climb, push, pull and reach as required in all areas
  • The Team Member will stand 8-12 hours on hard floors
  • The Team Member will perform repetitive motions as required in many areas
  • The Team Member will work in a cold environment in the mid 30 degrees Fahrenheit
  • The Team Member will be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, and extreme weather conditions
  • The Team Member will be occasionally exposed to high precarious places; confined spaces, extreme cold; extreme heat and vibration
  • The Team Member will consistently be walking/standing on concrete floors and exposed to wet/slippery surfaces for long/extended periods of time
  • The Team Member and a damp environment

Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness of plant in accordance with Master Cleaning Schedule per SSOP’s
  • Must complete all required cleaning logs
  • Must be capable of disassembling and reassembling the equipment
  • Work with various chemicals / cleaning agents in a safe manner following all applicable safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Be able to use high pressure water hose and high-pressure air wand in cleaning
  • Responsible for the maintenance of high pressure air, water hoses, drop stations and water guns
  • Responsible for changing socks/filters on schedule and maintaining the bag house door seals
  • Must be able to work every Sunday and occasional holidays.
  • Must be able to work a variable schedule and be able to work up to 12 hours in one shift
  • Communicate with various departments on a regular basis
  • Must be willing to work outside on occasion
  • Comply with all safety, food safety, GMP and SQF Requirements
  • Must perform all positions of rotation, if applicable
  • Perform any other work as assigned by supervisor
