About The Position

The Sanitation Manager for the Melrose Park, IL facility will demonstrate leadership in the area of sanitation. This requires observing and enforcing safety rules and practices, encouraging safe work behaviors, and promptly correcting conditions and unsafe behavior, which may lead to accidents. Continually endorse the Quality & Food Safety Policies, assure conformance to all requirements of the Quality & Food Safety Management Systems, & take action to properly report failures of these systems to site management.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years in a sanitation leadership position.
  • Experience with chemical hygiene safety preferred.
  • Demonstrated progressive leadership experience.
  • Knowledge and experience with pest control

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree (preferred)
  • Preference in science, biology, food science, chemistry or equivalent
  • Sanitation experience in a fermentation dry blending operation is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the facility is compliant with customer and governmental requirements for cleanliness while maintaining the highest safety and quality standards.
  • Manage relationships with vendors including chemical suppliers, pest control companies, and others as needed.
  • Lead sanitation employees to clean facility using approved chemical solutions.
  • Ensure all employees are following safety procedures including PPE.
  • Develop, maintain, and implement SSOPs, using both wet cleaning and dry-cleaning methods and tools.
  • Maintain chemical inventory.
  • Manage pest control program.
  • Conduct internal audits as necessary.
  • Participate and lead cross-functional teams with production & quality.
  • Manage and adhere to sanitation budget.
  • Responsible for maintaining proper documentation that meets all governmental and customer requirements.
  • Recommend, develop, and implement new or improved sanitation programs or tools to meet plant and company goals for safety, sustainability, and sanitation excellence.
  • Inspect plants and warehouses to ensure compliance with internal sanitation and safety procedures and programs and to comply with state and federal laws.
  • Maintain master cleaning schedule for plant meeting GMP and Kerry guidelines.
  • Maintain and write detailed clean up procedures and SSOPs for all plant equipment.
  • Responsible for sanitation of plant, warehouse, and plant ground.
  • Involved in Customer Audits and follow-up on corrective actions.
  • All other duties as assigned.
