About The Position

We are looking for a sanitation supervisor to help drive the continuous improvement of our facilities’ sanitation and food safety programs. This position will require someone who has good attention to detail and has a strong sense of urgency and leadership when it comes to responding to risk involving food.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • SQF levels 1,2,3; HACCP; FASMA certifications
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience
  • Experience in GMP’s, SOP’s, lockout/tag-out and FASMA.
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment and must also adapt to frequent changes that occur on the production line.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Must be selfdirected and able to work without close supervision – position requires high energy and motivation and a strong desire to drive positive changes.
  • Bilingual: English/Spanish.
  • Must be physically capable of moving to all areas of the plant.
  • Must be capable of either reaching, bending, stooping, climbing, pushing and pulling on a frequent basis.
  • Capable of lifting and moving items weighing up to 50lbs and be able to wear PPE for extended periods of time.

Responsibilities

  • Support the general safety of the plant, food safety, food defense initiatives, and GMP’s by setting an example to others.
  • Support the food sanitation program, company quality objectives, regulatory compliance, and cost effectiveness at all facilities.
  • Recommend to management any necessary changes in production methods or programs to elevate food sanitation, consistent with company policies and procedures.
  • Continually review sanitation procedures, standards and policies to ensure adherence to local, state and federal laws and codes governing safety and sanitation.
  • Assist and accompany all federal, state, local and private regulatory inspectors.
  • Support the sanitation programs at facility through training, scheduling, cleaning procedures, pest control procedures and methods, and effective records maintenance.
  • Assist in the implementation of employee training in sanitation procedures and safety matters as required by HACCP, SQF, GMP’s, Lock-Out/Tag-Out training and Fork-lift training.
  • Assist in conducting monthly in-house inspections at facility and any other ad-hoc audits in preparation for outside audits.
  • Assist Quality Control in proper inspection and storage of incoming ingredients for evidence of insect infestation or any other extraneous matter.
  • Assist in coordinating food safety procedures between Quality Control, Production and Shipping.
  • Train and provide direction and leadership to the Sanitation team members.
  • Ensure timely completion of Sanitation cleaning in accordance to production schedule and Standard Operating Cleaning Procedures.
  • Responsible for ensuring labor efficiency and goals are achieved – including, overtime hours, and temporary labor costs.
  • Manage the chemical supply company for controlling costs, manage training needs, troubleshooting issues, technically support and regulatory compliance.
