About The Position

This position is a Sanitation Lead position in a Food Processing (Eggs) company. The purpose of this position is to clean and sanitize egg-processing equipment on a daily basis following the processing shift. The role involves disassembling, cleaning, sanitizing, and reassembling processing equipment, performing CIP on tankers, silos, and product lines, and maintaining chemical levels for the CIP system. The Lead will also monitor chemical titrations, work with high-pressure cleaning equipment, perform manual scrubbing, use hoses and simple mechanical tools, and assist with general maintenance tasks. Additionally, the position includes end-of-day building and equipment shutdown, post-sanitation inspections, reviewing sanitation procedures with management and suppliers, maintaining proficiency in sanitation protocols, ensuring the Master Sanitation Schedule is completed, delegating and assigning work to the sanitation crew, monitoring crew performance, providing feedback and coaching, reporting progress and issues to management, and ensuring all company safety practices, policies, and procedures, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), are followed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of specifically related experience.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to effectively lead, coach, and mentor others.
  • Ability and willingness to learn several associated jobs.
  • General mechanical aptitude.
  • Written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s).

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with GMP’s or equivalent practices is highly desirable.
  • Previous food plant sanitation experience is highly desirable.
  • Prior experience in a lead or supervisory position preferred.
  • Ability to speak English and Spanish highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Disassemble, clean, sanitize, and reassemble processing equipment on a daily basis.
  • Perform CIP on tankers, silos, and product lines.
  • Maintain chemical levels for CIP system and monitor chemical titrations.
  • Work with high-pressure cleaning equipment, manual scrubbing, use of hose, and simple mechanical tools.
  • Assist with general maintenance tasks, such as removing/replacing panels on breaker machines.
  • Perform end-of-day building and equipment shutdown.
  • Conduct post-sanitation inspections of all equipment.
  • Review sanitation equipment usage with Maintenance/Processing Manager and chemical supplier.
  • Maintain proficiency in sanitation protocols within the Master Sanitation Schedule.
  • Ensure the Master Sanitation Schedule is completed as required.
  • Delegate and assign work to the sanitation crew.
  • Monitor performance of the sanitation crew, providing feedback and coaching.
  • Report progress, issues, or concerns to the Maintenance/Processing Manager.
  • Ensure all company safety practices, policies, and procedures are followed.
  • Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
