About The Position

The Lead Sanitizer will assist with leading the crew at company truck/trailer wash facilities. This role involves leading all efforts regarding the safe and timely scheduling and washing of trucks and trailers. The position requires performing duties personally or through other sanitizers, ensuring all Live Haul units are washed and disinfected according to current bio-security procedures and within scheduled turnaround times. The Lead Sanitizer will coordinate scheduling changes with facilities, manage the number of washes for the next day, maintain properly trained personnel, adequate equipment, and facilities, and enforce compliance with administrative policies, procedures, safety rules, and governmental regulations. This role is responsible for understanding the Injury Prevention System and all safety requirements, ensuring trailer cleanliness through training, inspection, and problem resolution, and maintaining biosecurity with cross-traffic with live haul. Additionally, the Lead Sanitizer is responsible for the preventative maintenance of the truck wash/baker facility and coordinating scheduling with the transportation supervisor. This role may perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must have current valid driver’s license
  • Must have excellent leadership and organizational skills
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Must be familiar with computer use and information systems
  • Ability to work as a team player
  • Ability to develop and implement work plans that are completed in a timely fashion
  • Ability to follow bio-security procedures
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and participate in the injury prevention system
  • Ability to read and write English
  • Ability to stoop, bend, and climb
  • Ability to use power washer and clean/ sanitize trucks
  • Ability to tolerate blood, animal dander, manure, dust and odors
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 70 lbs
  • Must be able to work a minimum of 40 hours per week
  • Must be able to work under stress
  • Must be able to tolerate hot and noisy conditions

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the swine industry preferred.
