Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED certificate
  • 5+ years of experience in knowledge of food sanitation operations in a manufacturing industry
  • Skill in organization, analysis, time management, prioritization, multitask, and the ability to meet deadlines for multiple tasks
  • Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel), and instructional software
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and quality of support and service
  • Good interpersonal skills and communication skills to interact with all levels of management
  • Excellent leadership, team building, and management skills to mentor and lead staff
  • NB: Successful candidates will be required to provide photo ID, banking details, a valid SIN number, and (if applicable) a valid work permit

Responsibilities

  • Direct and coordinate all daily sanitation activities within and surrounding the processing plant.
  • Ensure that staff are informed of corporate safety requirements and properly trained in best practices, MSDS, and the proper use of personal protective equipment.
  • Implement all GMP and HACCP procedures that relate to cleanliness, food safety and pest control with the facility.
  • Responsible for daily scheduling, efficient resource allocation, and supervision of the sanitation team to ensure all procedures are followed.
  • Coordinate the completion of all required sanitation or maintenance required by the master sanitation schedule, and/or end of week sanitation activities.
  • Complete daily sanitation logs, performance reports and shift paperwork.
  • Develop, implement, and manage all monitoring forms, records, and documentation to comply with all requirements.
  • Manage and maintain supply of cleaning chemicals necessary for the operation of the cleaning program and in compliance with OSHA and FDA regulations.
  • Provide direct supervision to sanitation staff including discretionary authority to determine methods of work.
  • Observe all safety rules and promote a safe working environment with team members.
  • Maintain strict GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).
  • Compliance with all rules & policies regarding health safety, occupational safety, environmental safety, food safety, legal regulations, company requirements, etc.
  • Compliance with the Company's Integrated Management Systems which includes, but is not limited to Production, Quality, Food Safety & GMP.
  • Other duties as assigned.
