About The Position

The Sanitation Associate I works in a food manufacturing environment and is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing equipment, tools, production lines, and facility areas according to sanitation procedures. The position uses steam and high-pressure hoses, COP tank cleaning equipment, and cleaning chemicals, and requires documenting sanitation activities and verifying that equipment and infrastructure are clean and pass microbiological indicator tests. This is a full-time, second-shift position with hours from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. and opportunities for advancement.

Requirements

• Basic understanding of facility cleaning procedures and compliance with safety standards, including OSHA and local, state, and federal requirements, and GMPs.
• Ability to follow regulatory, customer, and company sanitation policies and procedures.
• Comfort working in varying environmental conditions, including hot and cold, wet and dry areas.
• Flexible availability to work full-time, overtime, weekends, or alternate shifts as required.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 0–1 year of related experience in sanitation, food manufacturing, or a similar industrial environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate steam and high-pressure hoses to safely clean and sanitize equipment, tools, and facility areas, removing soil and contaminants according to procedures.
• Operate COP tank cleaning equipment to clean disassembled equipment.
• Disassemble and reassemble equipment as directed.
• Follow sanitation schedules and conduct and document routine cleaning of the facility and production line.
• Use and document chemicals at stated concentrations and for appropriate applications.
• Verify and document that the correct chemicals and concentrations are used and that cleaning and sanitizing are complete, ensuring equipment and infrastructure pass microbiological indicator tests.
