About The Position

LECO is a family-owned company with more than 90 years of experience developing and producing laboratory instruments. The Sander performs fill/sand work on castings and production sanding as directed by the Plating/Paint Supervisor or Group Leader. The role produces and maintains quality products while meeting performance and production expectations, and cross-trains for other job-related duties within the department as needed. The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Overtime may be needed, with a stated schedule of 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to use miscellaneous hand tools.
Ability to read blueprints.
Ability to operate a forklift truck and obtain a LECO forklift license.
Right-To-Know Training.

Responsibilities

Pick up LECO parts from the Raw Parts holding area and move them to the workstation.
Confirm that the Router Sheet revision level matches the blueprint revision level accompanying the parts.
Contact the Plating/Paint Supervisor if the Router Sheet and blueprint revision levels do not match, and do not process the parts until the discrepancy is resolved.
Produce and maintain quality parts that meet blueprint specifications while maintaining an acceptable level of productivity.
Write the quantity, initials, and date on the Router Sheet when parts are finished.
Sand parts and inspect them during the sanding operation.
Operate sanding equipment safely, wear protective form-fitting gloves, and position parts to prevent overreaching and bending.
Assure that labor is reported timely and correctly.
Implement corrective actions.
Handle materials using a forklift truck.
Record daily parts run on Form R8.5.1.4.
Cross-train for other job-related duties within the department as needed.
