About The Position

The Sander is responsible for scuff sanding stained or painted products and inspecting painted and glazed parts for quality. The role also performs other duties as delegated by the supervisor.

This is a full-time, day-shift position at the Stone City Plant in Bryan, Texas, with an hourly pay range of $20.00–$21.00. The work involves standing and walking on concrete surfaces for up to ten hours per day, handling materials, and frequently performing movements such as bending, stooping, reaching, grasping, twisting, pushing, and pulling. The employee must communicate effectively with management and coworkers, follow oral instructions and routine tasks, tolerate fluctuations in temperature and the work environment, maintain attendance and punctuality, and identify or report hazards.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read identification boards.
• Ability to learn wood types and glaze and stain colors.
• Ability to stand and walk for up to ten hours per day on concrete surfaces.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, and transport materials within the stated exertion requirements.
• Ability to frequently bend, stoop, reach, grasp, and twist.
• Ability to communicate effectively with management and coworkers by phone or in person.
• Ability to remember oral instructions and routine tasks.
• Ability to withstand fluctuations in temperature and environmental conditions.
• Ability to work the daily and weekly hours required by the schedule.
• Good attendance and punctuality.
• Alertness and ability to identify and respond to hazards.
