The Sample Technician will report to the Process and Validation Engineer and will be responsible to perform duties to set up and cycle a variety of plastic injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment and make process adjustments to achieve optimum cycle efficiencies and ensure proper function and quality of parts.

Requirements

Completion of General Technician Job Criteria
Ability to perform Mold Technician Job Criteria
Satisfactory completion of the Routsis Training Program with a passing score of 80%
Must possess and apply strong scientific injection molding skill set
Ability to work with within a detailed system/process
Ability to train others in safety systems and processing
Ability to lift 55 lbs.
Minimum 5 years of technical experience with plastic injection molding, along with hands on experience with raw materials, mold set-up, and strong-troubleshooting skills for electric injection machines and auxiliary equipment.
Qualified candidate will possess good work ethics, be reliable, and display dedication to quality.
Must enjoy a fast-paced environment.
Computer skills with Microsoft Office required
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal (English) across all departments
Excellent visual skills and reasoning ability
Team player who demonstrates the ability to relate to employees at all levels of the organization

Responsibilities

Work from prints, specifications and shop orders
Develop and document robust injection molding processes for new and existing tooling.
Work closely with Tooling, Engineering, Quality and Manufacturing departments.
Troubleshoot process & tooling/part problems
Conduct Root Cause Analysis of factors affecting overall product quality
Identify Continuous Improvement ideas associated within daily duties and overall department performance
Instruct and coach Mold Technicians
Coordinate tools being shipped and received
Coordinate tool stamping and photo documentation for BUCs
Use personal computer, dial / digital calipers, gauges, hand tools, hand/power lift trucks and overhead cranes
Possess a thorough understanding of all machinery, auxiliary equipment, materials & tooling
Record and communicate sample results to interested parties
Follow safety rules and keep work area in a clean and orderly condition
Other tasks and duties as assigned
