About The Position

Syneos Health is a fully integrated life sciences services organization supporting drug development and commercialization. The Sample Management Specialist I is an entry-level position that learns and carries out sample management duties while supporting the team. After demonstrating competency, the specialist may perform tasks independently.

The role supports the receipt, inventory, chain of custody, storage, transfer, preparation, distribution, and disposition of study samples and other materials requiring defined storage conditions and tracking. Maintaining material integrity and supporting storage appliances and environmental monitoring systems are essential parts of the position. The specialist also manages related supplies and archives sample-management documents.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• No prior experience is required.
• Excellent written and spoken communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Good computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and the ability to use sample-tracking software.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational support for the management of reference materials and matrices.
• Support receipt, verification, inventory control, distribution, sending, and disposition of study samples.
• Prepare samples for analysis.
• Maintain an inventory of sample-management supplies and order supplies as needed.
• Assist with maintenance, operation, and support of sample storage equipment and its monitoring system.
• Archive documents associated with study sample management.
• Perform daily tasks and other duties as assigned.
