Sample Control Technician (M-F, 10a-7pm) - Eurofins Environment Testing, Calscience, Tustin, CA
About The Position
Eurofins Environment Testing is seeking a Sample Control Technician to join their Team in Tustin, CA. This role involves performing all duties as outlined in the Standard Operating Procedure for Sample Control Technicians, including receiving, logging, labeling, and preparing samples for analysis. The technician will verify sample integrity, manage the Chain of Custody, interact with clients and couriers, maintain the shipping/receiving area, and may perform on-site sampling events. Responsibilities also include proper sample disposal according to EPA and EH&S requirements and assisting with other sample control duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
- Professional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write and speak in English
Nice To Haves
- Experience in a fast paced, production. food service or retail type environment preferred
- Computer skills preferred
- Ability to prioritize
Responsibilities
- Perform all duties as outlined in the Standard Operating Procedure for Sample Control Technicians.
- Receive, log in and label samples, and bottle orders for sign-in and analysis.
- Count the number of samples when receiving them from clients to make sure that the Chain of Custody and samples match.
- Verify that samples are not broken or damaged.
- Receive and sign the Chain of Custody.
- Ensure that client signs, dates, and records time on the Chain of Custody when releasing samples.
- Inspect samples for damage or violated hold times to maintain sample integrity.
- Interact with Project Managers and clients appropriately and professionally.
- Communicate effectively with the couriers.
- Restock supplies when received so supplies are available to employees when needed.
- Maintain the shipping/receiving area to ensure a safe work environment.
- Perform on-site sampling events as needed.
- Dispose of samples according to guidelines on a monthly basis to remain in compliance with Environmental Protection Agency and Environmental Health & Safety requirements.
- Label samples after log in on an as needed basis.
- May be assigned other sample control duties as identified by the laboratory management.
