Goldminer's Daughter Lodge is hiring a winter-seasonal Saloon Bartender to handle high-volume sales transactions, maintain the accuracy and integrity of the point-of-sale system, and provide exceptional service to Saloon patrons, lodge staff, and guests. The role includes greeting customers, processing orders and payments, reconciling the cash register, answering questions about the Saloon, Lodge, and ski resort, preparing and serving beverages, recommending food and specialty cocktails, and keeping the Saloon stocked and clean. The bartender must comply with food-handling, sanitation, alcohol-service, safety, and security requirements. The position runs from mid-November through mid-April and averages 40 hours per week. Employees may work in different lodge outlets, rotate shifts, and work a flexible schedule, including extended hours, weekends, and holidays during peak periods. The bartender must arrive on time in a clean uniform, attend required meetings and trainings, and perform other duties as assigned. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, prior POS and cash-handling experience, strong customer service and communication skills, basic math and cash-reconciliation ability, and the ability to work independently and solve problems in a fast-paced environment. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and at least 21 years old to serve alcohol. A Utah food handler's permit and Utah Alcohol Server Certificate must be obtained within 30 days of employment; the employee pays for these permits. Applicants must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds and communicate clearly in English. The lodge cannot sponsor H2B visa applicants. Wages are $15 per hour plus tips. Seasonal full-time employees may have access to on-site accommodations, with room and board automatically deducted from pay. Depending on whether the employee lives on site, benefits and amenities include meals, a ski bus pass, access to a fitness room, hot tub and sauna, and an Alta or Snowbird ski pass or an end-of-season payout of $1,376.95. Skiing is available on at least three of five working days in a week, plus days off. First-year full-time employees who want to ski pay a $200 ski deposit; returning full-time employees do not. Discounts are available through Motherload Powder House Ski Shop and Outdoor Prolink. Ski bus service between the Salt Lake Metro Area and Alta operates from mid-December until the second weekend in April.
