The Sales Representative's basic function is to manage established accounts and gain new business within the company’s territory. This role involves selling and introducing new products as well as maintaining established brands in all accounts.

Responsibilities

  • Manage established accounts and gain new business within the company’s territory.
  • Sell and introduce new products as well as maintaining established brands in all accounts.
  • Communicate closely with route drivers, verbally and electronically, regarding display locations, price signs, stock rotation, new placements, proper delivery times, credit information, etc.
  • Keep your account list updated and current.
  • Make all your scheduled stops.
  • Strive to sell in new products to all accounts.
  • Work to gain and maintain as many draught lines as possible.
  • Merchandise shelves and displays before leaving an account.
  • Ensure all displays have price signs and all shelves have proper shelf tags.
  • Know competitors pricing and understand mark-up and gross profit calculations.
  • Report competitors pricing and discount changes to management immediately.
  • Sync all orders by 5:30 PM.
  • Collect your accounts receivables.
  • Communicate openly with your customers on accounts receivable issues.
  • Work hand in hand with your supervisor to stay on top of problematic accounts.
