Salesforce Technical Architect - Miami, FL

City National Bank of FloridaCoral Gables, FL

About The Position

The Salesforce Technical Architect is the senior technical authority for the Bank's Salesforce platform, responsible for its technical architecture, code quality, and engineering practices. This role oversees the platform's technical design, including Apex, Lightning Web Components, solution architecture, and integration patterns. It also contributes design input on the data model and sharing/security model, which are managed by the Salesforce administration team. The role translates business requirements and Enterprise Architecture standards into buildable, maintainable, and well-governed technical solutions. The platform encompasses Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, and Financial Services Cloud (FSC), as well as custom development and integration for nCino for Loan Origination (LOS). Additionally, the role manages Salesforce DevOps, including source-driven development, branching strategies, CI/CD pipelines, code analysis, automated testing, environment management, and metadata governance. A key responsibility is the adoption and governance of AI-assisted development tools like Claude Code. This position combines hands-on technical leadership with people management, leading and developing a team of Salesforce developers, setting engineering standards, reviewing designs and code, and directing vendor/contractor work. The incumbent is accountable for the platform's technical health, scalability, performance, supportability, and compliance with the Bank's Enterprise Architecture, Information Security, and Regulatory Excellence requirements. Hands-on technical depth in Salesforce Marketing Cloud is a significant advantage.

  • Minimum of six years designing and building on the Salesforce Platform in a pro-code capacity (Apex, Lightning Web Components, SOQL, and platform APIs).
  • 5-7 years experience as technical lead or architect for a Salesforce org of comparable scale and complexity, holding technical design authority and owning code review and engineering standards for a development team.
  • Experience leading, mentoring, or supervising a team of software developers, including technical work.
  • Hands-on Salesforce DevOps experience: source-driven development with Salesforce DX, Git-based branching and merge strategy, automated CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Copado, or Gearset), static code analysis, and automated test frameworks.
  • Experience delivering Salesforce integrations to enterprise systems of record through an API management or integration platform, including event-driven, bulk, and near real-time data patterns.
  • Demonstrated use of AI-assisted development tooling, such as Claude Code or a comparable generative AI coding assistant, in a professional software delivery environment.
  • Experience in banking, financial services, or another regulated industry, working within formal change management, audit, and information security control frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience with Financial Services Cloud (FSC) and with nCino, including configuration and pro-code extension of the nCino Loan Origination System, and management of nCino release upgrades.

  • Perform and approve design and code reviews for all internal and vendor-delivered work, gating promotion to higher environments based on adherence to coding standards, test coverage, security requirements, and performance criteria.
  • Design and govern Salesforce integration architecture in coordination with the Integration team, including API-led patterns mediated through the enterprise integration platform, event-driven integration, and bulk and streaming data flows.
  • Partner with the Salesforce administration team on the platform's data model and its sharing, visibility, and security architecture, providing technical design input and review on profiles, permission sets, field-level security, encryption, and least privilege access.
  • Monitor and tune application-level performance across the platform, including Apex execution, query efficiency, governor limit consumption, and integration throughput, and maintain a prioritized technical debt remediation roadmap.
  • Partner with the Salesforce administration team on org capacity monitoring (API request volumes, data/file storage, license utilization), providing technical analysis and remediation options.
  • Provide technical leadership for Marketing Cloud development, including data extensions, AMPscript and Server-Side JavaScript, Journey Builder configuration, and Marketing Cloud Connect or API-based integration.

  • Provide licensing, tooling, environment, and effort estimates for platform budgeting, capacity forecasting, and vendor engagement scoping.
  • Advise the Product team on technical design for the nCino Loan Origination System, including extension patterns, integration touchpoints, upgrade impact, and regression testing.
  • Establish and govern the team's AI-assisted development practice, including approved tools, standards for context engineering and prompts, mandatory human review of AI-generated code, and controls for data handling, licensing, and intellectual property.
