About The Position
Kumon is seeking a Salesforce Solutions Developer to independently design, develop, deploy, and support Salesforce applications. This software engineering-focused role emphasizes custom development and integrations over administrator-centered declarative configuration. The developer will work primarily across Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, and Marketing Cloud, with hands-on work involving Agentforce and other AI-driven capabilities. The role partners closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements, translate them into scalable technical solutions, explain trade-offs in business-friendly terms, and demonstrate delivered results. The developer owns solutions across their full lifecycle, from requirements gathering and solution design through development, testing, deployment, and ongoing production support. The position is based in the NY/NJ area and requires regular in-office collaboration.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of hands-on Salesforce development experience, including personally building Apex and LWC solutions.
- Salesforce Certified Platform Developer I certification.
- Experience with SOQL/SOSL, Flow, REST/SOAP API integrations, and the Salesforce security and sharing model.
- Strong understanding of governor limits, security, and sharing models.
- Demonstrated experience independently owning a solution from design through production support.
- Strong communication skills and experience translating business requirements into technical solutions for non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Based in the NY/NJ area and able to work from the office as required.
- Unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S.; visa sponsorship is not available.
Nice To Haves
- Salesforce Platform Developer II certification.

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain custom Apex classes, triggers, and asynchronous processes.
- Build and maintain Lightning Web Components (LWC) that provide intuitive, high-performing user experiences.
- Develop and support solutions across Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, and Marketing Cloud, including case management, automation, and campaign functionality.
- Build and configure Agentforce and other AI-driven capabilities for customer service and marketing initiatives.
- Design scalable Salesforce data models that balance business requirements, security, reporting, and platform performance.
- Write and optimize SOQL/SOSL queries, applying governor-limit best practices and bulk-safe development.
- Determine when declarative solutions such as Flow, validation rules, and approval processes are appropriate and when custom development is required.
- Build and maintain integrations with external systems using REST/SOAP APIs.
- Own Salesforce solutions through the full lifecycle, from requirements gathering and development to deployment and production support.
- Partner with business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions and communicate technical concepts in clear, business-friendly language.
- Troubleshoot production issues, participate in code reviews, and contribute to platform best practices.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and stakeholder demonstrations.
