Salesforce Developer

Delinea•Redwood City, CA

About The Position

Delinea is hiring a Salesforce Developer to support its Customer Support, Customer Experience and Professional Services teams, which use Salesforce Service Cloud and Experience Cloud alongside NetSuite, Gainsight, Jira Service Management and Certinia PSA. The role combines approximately 60% administration and 40% development, with the allocation shifting according to business needs. Working with a platform lead and business partners, the developer will choose whether each problem is best addressed with configuration or code and build the solution accordingly. The role focuses on improving the customer portal and its self-service capabilities, ensuring external access is secure and defensible, and bringing AI agents into customer support safely. Changes—whether declarative or coded—are managed through DevOps Center with approvals and test evidence. The position works directly with Support, CX and Professional Services leaders in a SOX-regulated environment, with project work tracked in Azure DevOps and support tickets handled in Jira Service Management. Success includes aligning case routing and entitlements with current Support SLAs and reporting attainment without manual effort; completing a security review of the Experience Cloud site and related code; increasing portal deflection; putting an Agentforce for Service capability and custom action into production with defined guardrails; and maintaining approval and test evidence for all in-scope changes without change-control exceptions during the year's audits.

Requirements

  • Hands-on ownership of Salesforce Service Cloud in production, including case management, routing, entitlements and Knowledge.
  • Experience writing, testing and shipping Apex and Lightning Web Components to production.
  • Experience building at least one asynchronous job and one trigger in Apex.
  • Clear understanding of Salesforce governor limits and bulkification.
  • Experience configuring Experience Cloud sites, including external users, sharing sets and guest user security.
  • Understanding of how Apex sharing behaves for external users.
  • Deep working knowledge of the Salesforce security and sharing model, applying least privilege in configuration and code.
  • Clear written communication, including design notes, release notes and documentation suitable for non-technical stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Salesforce Platform Developer I or II, Advanced Administrator, Service Cloud Consultant or Experience Cloud Consultant certification.
  • Experience with Apex REST services, OAuth 2.0 flows on connected apps, or middleware integrations such as Boomi.
  • Experience with Agentforce, Einstein for Service or other AI in a support setting.
  • Experience with Certinia PSA, Gainsight or Jira Service Management.
  • Experience in a SOX-regulated or otherwise audited environment.

Responsibilities

  • Own and improve Salesforce Service Cloud capabilities, including case management, routing, entitlements and Knowledge.
  • Build and maintain customer portal experiences in Experience Cloud, including Knowledge access, case logging and tracking, and custom components where standard features are insufficient.
  • Review, document and secure external access, including guest user access, sharing sets, external user licenses and related Apex behavior.
  • Configure Agentforce for Service and develop invocable actions, with safeguards to ensure customer-facing responses are accurate.
  • Determine whether business problems should be solved through Salesforce configuration and Flow or through Apex, and document the rationale.
  • Move changes through DevOps Center with appropriate approvals and test evidence; communicate changes to affected stakeholders.
  • Work directly with Support, Customer Experience and Professional Services leaders to understand needs, propose options and provide alternatives when declining requests.
  • Follow platform engineering standards, participate in design checkpoints and code review, and collaborate with a senior engineer when working on unfamiliar areas.
  • Maintain documentation, design notes and release notes that stakeholders can act on.
  • Support SLA alignment and reporting, Experience Cloud security reviews, portal deflection improvements and audited change-control practices.
