The Solution Architect / Senior Solution Architect is a dual-impact leader across presales and delivery, responsible for shaping, scoping, and aligning complex engagements to position federal customers for long-term success as a trusted advisor. This role drives architectural strategy from initial solutioning through execution, ensuring mission-critical programs are set up to deliver measurable outcomes. The role involves reviewing and correcting project/program direction, approach, and key artifacts to keep programs on track and solutions extendable and maintainable. It also drives a program vision while advising and articulating program/project strategies to enable technologies including the Salesforce platform. The role identifies and leads internal strategic initiatives to grow the consulting practice and serves as an active contributor to the community’s overall knowledge base and expertise. It guides customers and colleagues in rationalizing and deploying emerging technologies that drive increased business value. The role requires collaborative work with very strong communication skills, especially in teaching complex concepts, and creative, prescriptive thinking across various levels of a client organization. It also involves identifying and proactively managing risk areas and committing to seeing an issue through to complete resolution. The role requires expertise in Salesforce configuration and architectural strategy, translating current-state complexity into clear target-state designs, closing capability gaps, and delivering solutions that enable achievement of critical business and mission outcomes. Experience leading discovery sessions, defining business requirements, writing user stories, and providing detailed system and functional designs is essential. Experience in documenting business processes and wire-framing system designs using process flow diagram tools, UML, sequence diagrams, etc., as well as making recommendations for future state improved processes and system designs is also required. Strong presentation skills, the ability to effectively present a point of view and clearly articulate the rationale to a variety of stakeholders, and strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are necessary. The ability to effectively develop materials that are appropriate for the audience, being a great listener with the ability to connect with people in diverse roles, and being a resourceful and innovative thinker who can work through and solve problems are key attributes. Experience will be evaluated based on the core competencies for the role (e.g., extracurricular leadership roles, military experience, volunteer roles, work experience, etc.). Experience in public sector digital transformation initiatives and the ability to convey and convince customers of best practices at various levels within a large organization are important. An application design and development background is expected, and the role serves as a trusted advisor to the client.
