TECH102: Salesforce Developer

About The Position

JerseySTEM is seeking an experienced Salesforce Developer to design and implement high-quality solutions on the Salesforce platform. This is a pro-bono (unpaid) position as part of a mission-driven professional network dedicated to improving access to STEM education and career pathways for underserved middle school girls in New Jersey. Members contribute their professional skills and leverage their networks in service of the organization’s gender-equity agenda. Membership requires a minimum six-month commitment of approximately six flexible hours per week. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Salesforce development, including customizations, integrations, and Lightning components.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years’ experience with Lightning Web Component Framework, Apex, SOQL, JavaScript, HTML and CSS.
  • Experience building custom Lightning Web Components for Experience Sites, including use of the including standard Lightning Web Components and the Salesforce Lightning Design System.
  • Strong understanding of the Salesforce security model.
  • The ability to effectively take direction and work both collaboratively and autonomously.
  • The willingness to work as part of a volunteer team which governs via consensus.
  • Comfortable partnering with teams experiencing the frequent change and process redefinition common to start-ups.
  • The ability to commit to at least 6 hours per week, including attendance a weekly team meeting, currently 6:15 p.m. ET Thursday.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Enhanced Lightning Web Runtime Experience Sites and guest user security a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop Apex (classes and triggers), Lightning Components, and Visualforce to extend Salesforce in order to support business requirements.
  • Application development, including basic Visualforce pages/Lightning pages, Lightning Web Components.
  • Assist with each release cycle to implement and deploy new/updates to existing applications and code.
  • Working with integrated applications such as DocuSign, Mailchimp etc.
  • Testing (unit and systems), and debugging.
  • Striving towards coding best practices and data quality.
  • Contributing to technical documentation.
