About The Position

The Sales Trainee prepares for a potential role as an Account Representative or Customer Service Representative. The trainee shadows account representatives and customer service representatives to gain experience in sales, company product lines, and the customer base. The role also includes work in the branch warehouse to become familiar with shipping and receiving, inventory, and delivery functions. Trainees participate in online and satellite classes conducted by the company’s Training Department, covering topics such as products, sales, and leadership.

Requirements

Typically requires a bachelor’s degree, preferably in Industrial Distribution or a related field.
Achievement-oriented and self-motivated.
Strong interpersonal skills and leadership qualities.
Strong analytical skills.
Ability to follow through on tasks.
Moderate computer skills, including communicating internally and externally via email.
Customer-service oriented.
Ability to travel occasionally.

Responsibilities

Participate in and successfully complete company-sponsored training classes.
Develop competent presentation skills.
Train across branch functions, including inside sales/customer service, outside sales/account representation, inventory, delivery, warehouse, and administration.
Perform other duties as assigned.
