About The Position
The Sales Trainee prepares for a future role as an Account Representative or Customer Service Representative. The trainee shadows account representatives and customer service representatives to gain experience in sales, company product lines, and the customer base. The role also includes training in a branch warehouse to become familiar with shipping and receiving, inventory, and delivery functions. Trainees participate in online and satellite classes conducted by the company's Training Department, including product, sales, and leadership training.
Requirements
- Typically requires a bachelor's degree, preferably in Industrial Distribution or a related field.
- Achievement-oriented and self-motivated.
- Strong interpersonal skills and leadership qualities.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Able to follow through on tasks.
- Moderate computer skills, including communicating internally and externally via email.
- Customer-service-oriented.
- Ability to travel occasionally.
Responsibilities
- Participate in and succeed in company-sponsored training classes.
- Develop competent presentation skills.
- Train in all levels of a branch, including inside sales (customer service representative), outside sales (account representative), inventory, delivery, warehouse, and administrative functions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
