About The Position

At Syngenta, we are working to build the most collaborative and trusted team in agriculture that provides leading seeds and crop protection innovations to enhance the prosperity of farmers. To support this challenge, Syngenta Professional Solutions is a Sales Territory Manager. This role is a remote position that will support a territory that expands through North-Central New Jersey, Northeast Pennsylvania and New York. Optimal support locations for this position are in the New Brunswick, Somerset, Morristown, Cedar Knolls areas.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Agriculture or related field.
  • A minimum of 2 years in field experience either in sales or a technical capacity in golf, lawn care, and/or sports turf markets.
  • Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship support from Syngenta.
  • Up to 75% travel is required for this role.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical knowledge of the product portfolio and of competitive products in the market.
  • Must be able to recognize competitive activities in the marketplace and know how to effectively minimize impact without compromising profit targets.
  • Agronomic knowledge to recommend spray programs for end users, provide on-site consultation and be an overall resource within the territory.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a key territory maximizing sales efforts in the golf, lawn care, sod, and sports turf markets.
  • Develop trust as well as a solid working relationship with the key end users in the territory.
  • Develop trust as well as a collaborative relationship with distribution in the territory.
  • Local distributor management as defined by District Manager
  • Execute all account management activities associated with local distributors
  • Achieve revenue and profit objectives delivered by robust business plans.
  • Develop and implement “Go to Market” strategies that support Brand Value.
  • Manage key end users and distributor sales representatives to achieve sales target.
  • Collaborate with Syngenta sales and marketing personnel to implement sales plan.
  • Execute sales and marketing plans to gain maximum market share within the territory.
