About The Position

This role supports an advertising sales team and their customers across three major Texas metros — Austin, Houston, and Dallas-Fort Worth — with the end goal to sharpen pitches and campaigns that move revenue. The Sales Strategy Specialist will be a hub of activity for a news organization, responding to incoming tickets, tasked with special data projects, participating in team meetings to problem solve, and connecting with sales reps, ad designers, programmers, leadership, and/or customers. The role is based in the Austin office and offers a hybrid schedule.

Requirements

  • Reliable transportation to our Austin office.
  • Proficiency with Mac, Google Suite, and Microsoft Office; comfortable learning our in-house CRM and technology.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with sales reps to create pitch decks and use data to help reps win more business.
  • Analyze sales performance, advertiser trends, and campaign data to surface insights that drive smarter decisions and stronger pitches.
  • Help manage a book of business by working back-and-forth with customers on artwork suggestions, revisions, and approvals to deliver ads that perform.
  • Identify, test, and roll out emerging AI tools for sales, marketing, and strategy — sharing best practices with the team to elevate how we work.
  • Partner with Community Impact Printing to scope targeted mail campaigns and develop custom quotes that match customer needs.
  • Respond to incoming tickets, troubleshoot issues for the field sales team, and keep work moving without bottlenecks.
  • Work closely with our development team on new UX/UI improvements, partner with ad designers and programmers, and connect regularly with leadership and customers.
  • Train sales reps on processes, tools, and best practices so the field team has what they need to succeed.
  • Handle data entry and administrative tasks with precision, ensuring records, systems, and deliverables stay clean and reliable.
