About The Position

As a Sales Specialist at Lowe’s, you help customers identify the products they need and turn project ideas into reality. You serve as a product expert, explaining specifications, features, promotions, and financing options while providing consulting services to meet customers’ project needs. The role involves frequent movement throughout the store or garden center, answering phones, and communicating with customers. The department assignment depends on hiring needs and skillsets and may include Millwork or other listed departments. You also serve as a contact for customers and vendors in your department, supporting project estimates, installer scheduling, customer orders and installations, inventory, pricing, checkout functions, and associate training. The role does not require regular travel, though occasional travel to meetings, training, or neighboring stores may be needed. Work conditions vary by location and may include indoor and outdoor weather, extreme heat or cold, wet or humid conditions, wind or drafts, noise, and moving or shaking objects and equipment. Associates must follow lifting guidelines, use team lifts when required, and use powered equipment only with proper training or assistance. The listed pay range is $16.50–$17.85 per hour; starting pay may vary based on factors including position, location, education, training, and experience.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
One year of customer-facing sales experience or six months of Lowe’s retail experience; alternatively, three years of external customer-facing sales experience or 18 months of Lowe’s retail experience if the education requirement is not met.
One year of sales or customer service experience in a sales environment with required sales goals or metrics.
Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
Ability to stand and sit for prolonged periods.
Ability to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted, or lift over 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.
Obtain sales-related licensure or registration if required by state law; Lowe’s will support and fund this requirement.

Nice To Haves

One year of experience completing customer sales orders.
One year of experience promoting product-related services and plans such as installation, delivery, credit financing, or extended protection plans.
Two years of experience designing customized products for customers using 20/20 or a Computer-Aided Design system.
Professional certification related to the department being considered.
Bilingual skills.

Responsibilities

Provide SMART customer service by seeking out customers, understanding their needs, answering questions, and communicating the advantages of Lowe’s products and services.
Serve as a point of contact for customers and vendors within the department.
Provide project estimates, schedule installer visits, process and track customer orders and installations, and follow up to ensure project completion.
In the Pro Department, focus on external accounts and outside sales and services.
Monitor inventory levels and work with vendors and other stores to locate merchandise and order replacement stock.
Perform price reviews according to pricing policies and maintain pricing and documentation.
Support checkout functions, call buttons, departmental pages, and requests for assistance.
Train department associates on the sales floor and coach them on development needs.
Complete other duties as assigned.
