About The Position

As a Sales Specialist at Lowe’s, you help customers identify the products they need and turn project ideas into reality. You provide consultative service in a fast-paced retail environment, communicate product specifications and features, explain promotions and financing options, and help close sales. Depending on hiring needs and skillsets, the position may be in Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Live Nursery, Millwork, Fashion Plumbing, Outlet, Tool Rental, Pro, or Windows & Walls. The role involves substantial interaction with customers, moving throughout the store or garden center, answering phones, and providing product expertise. Sales Specialists may also coordinate estimates, installer visits, orders, and installations, and follow up to support project completion. The position may involve working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather and environmental conditions.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
One year of customer-facing sales experience or six months of Lowe’s retail experience. If the education requirement is not met, three years of external customer-facing sales experience or 18 months of Lowe’s retail experience is required.
One year of experience in sales or customer service in a sales environment with required sales goals or metrics.
Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
Ability to stand and sit for prolonged periods.
Ability to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted, or over 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.
Ability to obtain sales-related licensure or registration if required by state law; Lowe’s will support and fund this requirement.

Nice To Haves

One year of experience completing customer sales orders.
One year of experience promoting product-related services and plans, such as installation, delivery, credit financing, or extended protection plans.
Two years of experience designing customized products for customers using 20/20 or a Computer-Aided Design system.
Professional certification related to the department being considered.
Bilingual skills.

Responsibilities

Provide SMART customer service by seeking out customers, understanding their needs, answering questions, and explaining the advantages of Lowe’s products and services.
Serve as a point of contact for customers and vendors in the department.
Provide project estimates, schedule installer visits, process and track customer orders and installations, and follow up to ensure project completion.
In the Pro Department, focus on external accounts and outside sales and services.
Monitor inventory levels and work with vendors and other stores to locate merchandise and order replacement stock.
Perform price reviews according to pricing policies and maintain pricing and documentation.
Support checkout functions, call buttons, departmental pages, and requests for assistance.
Train department associates through on-the-job sales-floor training and coaching on development needs.
Complete other duties as assigned.
