About The Position

The Sales Representative role is key in helping Tata Consumer Products, US sales efforts untap new growth & and improve efficiencies. Our ideal candidate is resourceful, responsible, & self-driven and would like to improve their abilities in (sales, analytics, communication, marketing, and organization) while growing with Tata Consumer Products. This position requires phone and computer work, therefore is expected to be efficient in Microsoft Office programs such as PowerPoint and Excel, as well basic understanding of social media platforms. In order to accelerate growth with existing and new categories in highly competitive retailers, this role is a critical enabler of providing best in class category leadership insights and selling stories to support sales team in unlocking new distribution/growth strategies in existing and new categories. This role is directly responsible for driving insights & analytics across our “strategic account” retailers, our brands, and our competition. This role will help to utilize fact based analysis to identify trends, insights, and recommendations for the business. A background in sales, analytics, marketing along with a high energy level and a passion for sales and analytics is preferred!

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with at least 1 Year of CPG Sales, Analytics, Marketing
  • Location: NY, NJ, CT, or MA
  • Experience with CPG syndicated POS data and insights (i.e., Nielsen, Luminate, IRI, 8451, etc.)
  • Detail Oriented, Clear writing, and Editing Skills.
  • Analytical skills and computer software proficiency (e.g., Excel, Access, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.)
  • Financial and Trade management understanding - pricing/promo strategies in dynamic categories

Responsibilities

  • Collect, analyze, and synthesize sales, customer, and market data to identify trends, opportunities, and risks.
  • Maintain and develop assigned key account lists, set yearly measurable goals and targets for distribution and volume tailored under the direction of the Regional Sales Manager.
  • Support the development of optimal product assortment for customers and line review meetings by analyzing sales performance, category trends, and consumer dynamics.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key buyers, decision makers & broker partners at assigned Key Accounts.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of promotional campaigns using pre/post analysis, ROI assessment, and shopper behavior data; recommend strategies for future promotions.
  • Monitor competitor activities (pricing, assortment, promotions) through internal and external data sources; deliver actionable insights to enhance our competitive advantage.
  • Build and maintain dashboards or reports that provide real-time visibility into key metrics for sales strategy team, inclusive of inventory and customer profitability metrics.
  • Partner with National Account Managers, Sales Strategy, Marketing, and Finance teams to align insights and support strategic initiatives and customer presentations anchored in data and facts.
  • Collect and analyze sales, inventory, and shopper data from key account data sources such as portals and internal sources to uncover growth opportunities and risks.
  • Evaluate SKU performance and recommend assortment changes tailored to each retailer’s strategy and shopper base.
  • Responsible for sales forecasting and managing deductions (Financial Management) through internal Trade Promotion Management system
  • Assist in the preparation for sales meetings, including but not limited to editing presentation decks, coordinating sample requests and sending follow-up emails as appropriate.
  • Continuing to develop and enhance competencies through participation in learning and development workshops. These include, but not limited to training available at the local, regional, and national meetings intended to improve selling techniques, knowledge of the customer and company, and other business practices.
