About The Position

FlatWorld Publishing is seeking a Sales Representative to join their sales team. The primary responsibility of this role is to persuade college faculty to adopt FlatWorld's digital-first textbooks and Homework system. The Sales Representative will be responsible for identifying decision-makers, managing customer relationships, and driving new business. This role involves utilizing Salesforce for account management, researching university websites for faculty and course information, and conducting sales presentations via virtual meetings. The position offers a base salary with uncapped commission and a full benefits package. Initially, the role will be remote during training and ramp-up, with the potential to transition to a field-based sales position requiring significant travel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • Superior listening, oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Excellent organization and follow-through skills.
  • Accomplished range of skills from strategic thinking to creative and detailed execution.
  • Very comfortable with technology and learning new tools.
  • Experience using sales tools, systems, and software such as Google Meet, Zoom, Salesforce, Slack, Google Suite.
  • Ability to forge relationships internally and externally.
  • Ability to work with and maintain a sense of urgency.
  • Prior sales skills and higher education experience.
  • Strategic skills to triage a large territory.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to travel 4 to 5 days a week to top institutions in the territory during the sales season (after initial remote period).

Responsibilities

  • Persuade faculty to adopt FlatWorld textbooks and the Homework system.
  • Develop and execute a territory plan, focusing on larger, Tier 1 accounts.
  • Maintain good relationships with current textbook adopters.
  • Uncover opportunities by responding to inbound inquiries and directly identifying prospects.
  • Communicate FlatWorld's mission, value proposition, and solutions to prospective customers.
  • Attain and surpass sales goals by building relationships, growing awareness of FlatWorld, identifying faculty pain points, and persuading them to adopt FlatWorld products.
  • Develop selling skills and refine the selling approach independently.
  • Manage company resources, including company laptop, additional equipment, and marketing collateral.
  • Engage in client-facing interactions.
  • Work 40+ hours per week.
