About The Position

The OTIP Group of Companies (OGC) is seeking a Sales Representative for their Personal Lines team in Ontario. This role focuses on handling inbound calls from customers seeking quotes or looking to expand their insurance coverage. The Sales Representative will be responsible for understanding customer needs, recommending appropriate insurance solutions, providing competitive quotes, and introducing new products and services. The goal is to ensure a positive customer experience that fosters loyalty and drives additional business. The role also involves actively seeking referrals to grow the sales pipeline and deepen customer relationships.

Requirements

  • A RIBO license is required, or an OTL license with the expectation to obtain a RIBO license within 45 days of employment.
  • A minimum of one year’s experience, in personal lines, automobile, property and marine insurance.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the demonstrated ability to deal effectively with all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent problem solving skills and ability to handle customer issues in a pleasant and positive manner.
  • Superior time management and organizational skills to handle competing priorities.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing, in English and French.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using Epic, Applied Rating Services and Company portals.

Responsibilities

  • Selling products by establishing contact and developing relationships with prospects.
  • Responding promptly to telephone inquiries and written requests.
  • Following-up on ex-dates, re-quoting prospects from previous years, cancelled files, contacting leads generated, and asking for referrals.
  • Creating a trusting environment that fosters new sales opportunities and retention of existing business to increase sales potential.
  • Actively participating within the team unit and independently to continuously contribute to overall business improvement.
  • Actively owning and resolving all customer inquiries, while ensuring the customer effort is minimized.
  • Accurately processing account changes, maintaining complete customer documentation, preparing correspondence, and documenting files for follow up in EPIC.
  • Tackling complex insurance-related cases, creatively utilizing all available resources until full resolution is met.
  • Keeping updated on company underwriting guidelines and changing markets.
  • Performing other duties within competence, as assigned.
