About The Position

We are FlatWorld, a rapidly growing publisher disrupting the Higher Education textbook industry by offering affordable, high-quality digital-first textbooks and an online Homework system. As a Sales Representative, you will be instrumental in persuading faculty in your assigned territory to adopt FlatWorld products. You will be the face of FlatWorld, building relationships and identifying opportunities to drive new business. This role requires strategic planning, effective time management, and the use of Salesforce for customer relationship management. You will research college and university websites to identify faculty and course information, and utilize various communication channels (email, calls, Google Meet, Zoom) to engage with instructors, demo our assessment platform, and close sales. Collaboration with the Customer Success team is key to ensuring a smooth onboarding process for adopting instructors. Your primary focus will be driving new revenue, with generous compensation based on new business generated, including a base salary and uncapped commissions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four year college or university.
  • Superior listening, oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Excellent organization and follow through skills.
  • Accomplished range of skills from strategic thinking to creative and detailed execution.
  • Comfortable with technology and learning new tools.
  • Experience operating in a Mac environment.
  • Experience using sales tools, systems and software such as Google Meet, Zoom, Salesforce, Slack, Google Suite.
  • Ability to forge relationships internally and externally.
  • Ability to work with and maintain a sense of urgency.
  • Prior sales skills.
  • Higher education experience (transitioning teachers encouraged to apply).
  • Strategic skills to triage a large territory.

Responsibilities

  • Create and execute a territory plan, focusing on larger, Tier 1 accounts.
  • Maintain good relationships with current textbook adopters.
  • Uncover opportunities by responding to inbound inquiries and directly identifying opportunities at Tier 1 Accounts.
  • Communicate FlatWorld's mission, value proposition, and solutions to prospective customers.
  • Attain and surpass sales goals by building relationships, growing awareness of FlatWorld, identifying faculty pain points with current textbook choices, and persuading them to adopt FlatWorld.
  • Develop skills and refine selling approach independently by synthesizing information from peers, management, and sales tools.
  • Manage company resources, including company laptop, additional equipment, and marketing collateral, in compliance with standards.
  • Act as a client-facing representative.
  • Work 40+ hours per week.
