About The Position

The Standard is seeking an Employee Benefits Sales Professional to join its growing Employee Benefits sales team. The company emphasizes a customer-first mindset, financial stability, and investment in innovative technologies, fostering a high-performance culture focused on operational excellence, compassion, and customer commitment. This role involves managing a dynamic territory, including the greater Cleveland, OH area and Pittsburgh, PA, with opportunities ranging from established business relationships to market development. The Sales Professional will act as the primary liaison between producers, customers, and the company to achieve sales goals and personal success.

Requirements

  • Prior experience selling employee benefits.
  • Must live in the greater Cleveland area, Columbus, OH, and/or Pittsburgh, PA areas.
  • Established broker relationships in the territory.
  • Ability to travel 2-3 days per week within the territory.
  • Life & health licensing (must be obtained upon hire if not currently licensed).
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience selling employee benefits.
  • Excellent driving record.
  • Insurable under corporate insurance carrier.

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage a large, dynamic territory, which includes a full range of business, from long-established producers to significant growth opportunities.
  • Serve as the key liaison between producers, customers and the company to drive sales goals and personal success.
  • Effectively utilize the full range of resources provided (locally based service team, home office service groups, marketing and development resources, expertise of peers, Managers etc.) to attain sales targets and drive customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and continually improve product knowledge, sales skills, and competitive intelligence via both personal and formal development plans and utilize to compete effectively in the local market.
