About The Position

ASSA ABLOY is seeking an Architectural Sales Representative to support architectural professionals in the design and specification of door openings. The role uses Openings Studio, ASSA ABLOY’s BIM software for specifying 3D doors, hardware, and access control, to educate and advise architects and design teams. The representative builds trusted relationships with key influencers, develops brand demand, and promotes ASSA ABLOY solutions and professional services. The representative works with a team supporting architectural firms nationwide and serves as a point of contact for architects’ education, specification, client satisfaction, and technical support needs. The role includes developing architectural opportunities, tracking projects, securing approvals for internal writers to prepare Division 08 door and hardware specifications, encouraging adoption of Openings Studio, and presenting proposals for value-added professional services. The position is remote/hybrid, Monday through Friday, based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, or El Paso, Texas, with travel within an assigned territory.

Requirements

At least 3 years of industry-related experience in architectural representation, specification writing, or Design-Build construction management.
A college or university degree, or commensurate work experience with at least a high school diploma or GED.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
Experience using and maintaining CRM tools for sales and activity reporting.
Ability to read and understand specifications and facility standards.
Industry-related technical and sales aptitude.
Ability to travel within an assigned territory and meet customer requirements.
Ability to perform responsibilities in a home office environment or while traveling.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds of sample and display material for sales presentations.
Strong communication, active listening, and negotiation skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Organization, attention to detail, follow-up, time management, and project management skills.

Nice To Haves

A degree specializing in architecture, design, engineering, drafting, construction science or management, business, or a similar field.
Working knowledge of industry-related software.

Responsibilities

Cultivate strategic relationships with architectural design team influencers and specifiers.
Identify and secure opportunities to prepare door and hardware specifications.
Provide timely and accurate product information for commercial project specifications.
Deliver targeted continuing education programs highlighting products, solutions, and design-assist professional services.
Assist with product substitutions and approval procedures, and follow up to help ensure specifications are retained during the bid process.
Use Salesforce.com for customer relationship management, project tracking, and time management.
Provide architects with education, specification, client satisfaction, and technical support.
Develop architectural opportunities, track projects, and gain approval for internal writers to prepare Division 08 door and hardware specifications.
Promote adoption of the Openings Studio BIM tool.
Present project proposals for value-added professional services.
Travel within the assigned territory and meet customer requirements.
